SD-WAN and Security Refresh for 86 Branches of a Regional Bank

A regional bank with 86 branches across Anatolia used a separate leased line and an old router at each branch. Branch opening times were long, line cost was high and faults could not be handled from head office.

Solution

Omurga installed an SD-WAN device and a next-generation firewall at every branch. Each branch runs a primary fibre line and a backup 4G/5G link as a multi-link connection, with traffic steered by application.

Results

• 34% reduction in total line cost
• New branch activation from 9 days to 1 day
• Automatic failover to the backup line during branch outages (about 3 seconds)
• Central policy management and 24/7 monitoring

The project took 7 months, was delivered in five waves and finished without any interruption during working hours at any branch. The system continues to be operated by the Omurga NOC team.
