Wi-Fi and Store Network Standardisation for a 240-Store Chain

A retail chain with 240 stores nationwide used network devices of different brands and ages in each store. Till outages and handheld connection problems caused lost sales.

Solution

A standard "store package" was designed for every store: one firewall, one PoE switch, three to six access points (by store size) and a single cloud management dashboard. POS, handhelds, guest Wi-Fi and the camera network were separated into their own VLANs and SSIDs. Installation teams commissioned stores after closing time with zero till downtime.
